About Cong

The village of Cong is located at the heart of Ireland’s Lake District on the borders of County Mayo and County Galway. Being on the doorstep of Connemara and half way between the towns of Galway and Westport it is the ideal base for touring the West of Ireland. Kylemore Abbey, Croagh Patrick and Knock Shrine are all an easy drive away.

The village is surrounded by lakes and rivers in the most scenic and picturesque part of Ireland. Just a stones throw from the village are castles, caves, the abbey and standing stones. The Heritage Trail links the many interesting historical sites. There are also ample opportunities for shopping and eating in the Craft Shops, Bookshop, Delicatessens, Cafes and Woollen Market.

From cycling to horse riding, falconry to fishing there are lots of activities for all the family to enjoy.
